Kung Fu Panda 2 made $6.9 million in Friday ticket sales. The 3D animation movie will likely finish in third place with around $22-23.5 million in ticket sales for the June 3-5 box office weekend. Kung Fu Panda 2 has time to maintain consistent business through the summer months.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides made $5.9 million in Friday ticket sales. The Disney movie is expected to finished fourth with $17.5-19 million. The fourth installment of the popular Pirates franchise has already grossed $177.3 million to date.
Lastly, Bridesmaids collected $3.9 million in ticket sales on Friday June 3, 2011. The raunchy chick flick is turning studio heads, showing that women-driven movies are too, in high demand. To date, Bridesmaids has grossed $98.75 million. The movie will cross the $100 million mark on Saturday June 4.
